Xcel Energy, a Minneapolis-based electric and natural gas utility, reached an agreement with the state of New York that would require the utility to disclose to investors business risks that might arise from climate change.

As installed generating capacity increases, wind energy is running into operational problems ranging from coordinating wind and hydro output in the Pacific Northwest to limited transmission line capacity in other parts of the country. This New York Times article discusses the transmission problem.
