The 7th AeroCom meeting will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland. Oral contributions should be submitted by September 7, and attendees are requested to register by September 19.

The International Society for Environmental Epidemiology and the International Society of Exposure Analysis joint annual meeting will be held in Pasadena, California. Early registration deadline is August 15, 2008. Full registration deadline is September 30, 2008.

10/14/08 to 10/16/08 NADP Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium

The annual meeting of the National Acid Deposition Program will be held at the Madison Concourse Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin.

 

Xcel Energy, a Minneapolis-based electric and natural gas utility, reached an agreement with the state of New York that would require the utility to disclose to investors business risks that might arise from climate change.

 

As installed generating capacity increases, wind energy is running into operational problems ranging from coordinating wind and hydro output in the Pacific Northwest to limited transmission line capacity in other parts of the country. This New York Times article discusses the transmission problem.
